About

This course provides knowledge on how to deliver an effective programme of activities for Alzheimer’s and Dementia clients. It involves training care professionals in the ImaginationGYM® method so they can run progressive workshops for clients in their care on a regular basis

The training takes place over 2 days with the second day occurring 8 weeks after the first.  The training teaches care professionals the methodology for structuring workshops and how to use the ImaginationGYM® resources that are required to run an effective workshop for their clients. The course participants will use the program with their clients during the intervening period between the two training days and various assignments and targets are assigned. The workshop inputs include imagination and storytelling, olfactory and musical stimulation and light touch massage

Who is this course suitable for?

In the nursing home and healthcare sectors training in ImaginationGYM® is suitable for a range of care professionals depending on their role in their establishment or community. These would include nurses, occupational therapists, activity managers and their staff whom are involved in providing activities for Alzheimer’s and Dementia clients. All the ImaginationGYM® training programs are recognised for continuing professional development points (CEU’s) by the Irish Nurses and Midwifery Board and in the UK, when the course is taken under the auspices of Training2Care UK.
