The Irish Centre for Diversity offers Ireland’s only Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) mark for Irish businesses. Supported by Ibec, the EDI Mark, enables businesses to be known as ‘Investors in Diversity’, providing them with a framework for success over three levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold. So whether your organisation is starting the EDI journey, or is more well established in its path, it enables you to measure, improve and recognise efforts to foster equality, diversity and inclusion in your organisation.
How Does It Work?
The Investors in Diversity EDI Mark offers a clear and structured framework to transform culture. It provides organisations with the help and guidance they need to make progress with EDI, taking a cohesive approach to building a more inclusive, equitable and diverse organisation. The framework, built on a tested model of best practice, provides cutting-edge tools and services to measure and inform your organisation on workplace Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE). It ensures you understand the steps and actions needed to make progress and improve your workplace culture.
Why Is It Important?
We recognise that every organisation is unique and has a different starting point when it comes to the EDI journey. We work with organisations that are just starting out as well as those that are already well established in their efforts. No matter what the unique situation is – whether its one employee or 20,000 employees or whether you are in the private, public or voluntary sector – the ‘Investors in Diversity’ framework will guide, recognise and support you on your journey of continuous improvement. We have worked with a wide range of organisations across Ireland providing a range of different supports and guidance.
Investors in Diversity Bronze Award
Committing: Bronze is the first of the three stages in the Investors in Diversity EDI Mark. It provides organisations with a framework to put in place a strong foundation to embed EDI into wider organisational systems. In addition to being a starting point for those that are beginning their EDI journey, this best practice model enables organisations, at all stages of their EDI journey, to measure and demonstrate EDI maturity.
Attainment Requirements: In order to gain a ‘Bronze Investors in Diversity EDI Mark’, organisations must evidence that they have put in place appropriate D&I Policies, have delivered effective communication of policies to all staff and have undertaken D&I training for all Leaders.
Average Timescale: From start to finish, where there is commitment from the organisation, it takes circa three to five weeks to attain Bronze.
