Who is this course for ??

The course is aimed at anyone in a Hospitality business who has a responsibility for creating rosters/scheduling team-members and/or forecasting or managing labour resources and budgets. This would include Supervisors, Managers, Heads of Department, Finance Managers, HR Managers, General Managers.

Course Overview:

Mangers will learn that labour forecasting is very different to revenue forecasting as it requires volume data (occupied rooms, covers, check-in’s etc…) as opposed to revenue to accurately schedule labour and create more efficient rotas.

Utilising the learner’s own data collected ahead of the course, this hands-on & practical course will help learners find the perfect balance between quality management and labour management. It introduces the learners to the concept of managing payroll by using the productivity metric of “hours per unit”.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the workshop learners will be able to:

List the benefits of using “productivity” to manage labour as opposed to just “labour cost as a percentage” of revenue.

Identify the various data types and sources required to create more accurate schedules.

Calculate a labour forecast based on volume: i.e. occupied rooms, covers, check-in’s etc… and not just revenue.
